Historic Rock Ford's 2023 Tour Season Dates: April 1 through October 31  

During our regular tour season from April 1 through October 31, guests are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance through Yapsody. If you require assistance with the online admissions process, please call the Museum Office at 717-392-7223 ext. 103 between the hours of 10 AM - 4 PM, Tuesday - Friday.

Guided tours of the General Edward Hand Mansion are limited to 15 guests per tour and are approximately 45-60 minutes in length.

June 20: Due to school tours, we will be closed for tours of the Hand Mansion.

Closed: Tuesday, July 4 (Independence Day).


From April through October, Hand Mansion guided tours are offered Tuesday-Friday and Sunday at 10 AM, 12 PM and 2 PM and Saturday at 10 AM and 12 PM (unless otherwise noted above). The Snyder Gallery is open Tuesday-Friday and Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Hand Mansion guided tour tickets include admission to the Snyder Gallery located on the second floor of the Rock Ford Barn with entrance in the rear. Guests may visit the Snyder Gallery before and/or after their scheduled mansion tour time. We recommend that guests allow 30-45 minutes for their self-guided visit to the Snyder Gallery. Guests must be present on the piazza of the Hand Mansion at their scheduled tour time. If you arrive after your tour start time, please report directly to the Hand Mansion to join the tour in progress. However, if you are more than 15 minutes late, guests will need to reschedule. Please call the Museum Office at 717-392-7223 ext. 103.

Please note that tickets (paper or digital) will be checked at the door by your Tour Guide. The staff member in the Welcome Center of the Snyder Gallery may also ask to see your tickets. Thanks for your cooperation.

Hand Mansion Guided Tour plus Snyder Gallery Admission Rates:

Visitors should park in the parking lot at the main entrance to Historic Rock Ford. Several handicapped parking spaces are available at the Snyder Gallery and adjacent to the brick walk leading to the Hand Mansion.

The Hand Mansion has stairs. The first floor and lower level are wheelchair accessible. The Museum Shop is located on the lower level of the Hand Mansion.

Public restrooms are located in the Welcome Center of the Snyder Gallery. The Hand Mansion does not have public restrooms.

Special arrangements must be made for Group Tours of the Hand Mansion for 15 or more visitors. Please check our “Group Tours” page for details.
